High Street Bathroom, West Wickham

This project took place in part of the house built over 100 years ago. The customer was looking for a modern take on a traditional bathroom, which we think has worked very well.

This room was taken back to its bare bones, removing old lathe and plaster walls and ceilings and re-building with timber. A framework built around the room to take the paneling was topped with window boards before a complete re plaster.

Being such an old building, the floor was miles out of level and not flat enough to take any covering other than carpet. This was levelled out and flattened using a combinations of additional joists and a self-levelling compound. Electric underfloor heating was then added before the final Camaro finished floor went down.

Tongue and grooved panelling, traditional sanitaryware and a free standing bath with cast iron feet help bring the room together. A hospital style radiator with integral heated towel rail complete the look.

This room was professionally decorated by the customers own decorator during the course of our work, so this job was spread over 3 weeks from start to finish allowing for sufficient drying times throughout.
